It has always been an essential part of our lives to create pleasant moments, not only for those we love, but also especially for ourselves. In our childhood home, there was often a cake in the oven, homemade delicacies in the cupboards and a creative project on the table. These traditions have shaped us and our approach to life. This deep understanding and appreciation of coziness is a gift we have inherited from our mothers, among other things. They were both homemakers, but we have not been ourselves. So how do you maintain cosiness in a busy everyday life that also requires time for career and other commitments? Our answer lies in simplicity. You don't have to do without the cosiness of everyday life. It's about the little things that make the small difference and create great joy. A simple bouquet from the garden or the edge of the ditch, the smell of freshly baked bread, which might as well be a dough stirred in five minutes, rather than sourdough bread that has been many days in the making. The little sprinkle on the egg sandwich, which is served on a nice plate and a lit candle. It can also be an informal gathering around a simple meal, a spontaneous creative moment, or simply enjoying the joy of a well-appointed space. These are not things that take a long time, but that make a big difference for us. They may seem small and insignificant, but their effect on well-being and the feeling of home and coziness is indescribable. We have learned that you can navigate everyday life by choosing your priorities wisely. Hygge doesn't have to take a lot of effort; It lives and thrives in simplicity.

For over 20 years, we have worked separately to communicate and inspire others. Although our paths only crossed just under two years ago, we have since been inseparable in our creative collaboration. We have found soulmates in each other and an inexhaustible source of mutual inspiration that we now want to share with you. This book marks our first joint publication. With it, we hope to give you the best of our two worlds, where hygge is not just a concept, but a way of life. The publisher Jeanne d´Arc Living has published numerous books on interior design and creative books over the past 18 years. The last 13 years also our own lifestyle magazine "Magasinet Jeanne ´Arc Living", which is published 8 times a year, in 6 different languages. The magazine is a lifestyle magazine focusing on interior design, creativity, recycling, ecology and home life in line with the trends of the time. We feature creative DIY ideas, simple recipes and beautiful articles of inspiring homes, vintage furniture, nostalgic European garden design and floral decorations - all in the French and Nordic country style with a modern and industrial touch. You'll also find occasional inspirational articles on events and travel to various destinations, including everything from visits to authentic French vineyards, to small, idyllic islands in Denmark. There are no conventional ads in the magazine. Only a few ads appear at the back of the magazine, and only in limited numbers, to keep the content relevant to readers.
