This is a one-component crackle medium that is applied between two layers of non-metallic acrylic paint.
Water-based, one-component, transparent cracking varnish for creating antique, cracked surfaces. Paint the surface to be decorated with acrylic paint, then apply Crackle Medium on it.
After drying, paint the object again with an acrylic paint colour different from the base colour. The Crackle Medium dries transparent. It is the top layer of paint that cracks, showing the base color in the cracks.
The depth and network of cracks depends on the thickness of the layers and the technique of application.
You may use a hair dryer to dry the pastes.
The second photo shows what the crackle looks like:
Base layer: Hewbury Paint Sherpa Blue
Middle layer: Crackle Medium
Top layer: Hewbury Paint Turquoise Bay
