Using Paper Clay with IOD Moulds

Posted by Rustic Farmhouse Charm on

Finally! I've just received a big shipment of Prima's air dry Paper Clay!

These are really awesome for making appliques with that rustic old-world look. Air dry paper clay shrinks a little as it dries, sometimes producing natural cracks, hence imitating the ageing process.

In contrast, appliques made of polyurethane resin are perfect in detail.

I love both casting materials - it really depends on which look you're chasing in your projects

Here's a video I've made demonstrating the making of appliques on IOD moulds using Prima's air dry Paper Clay. I apologise if the video is too speedy - it was done on my old trusty Mac that is no longer trusty as of yesterday!
